IFDP special meeting Nov. 30

For its Nov. 30 special meeting, the Idyllwild Fire Protection District commission has three items on the proposed agenda:

Special Session Item(s)

• Interim Election of Board Officers – due to resignation of Commissioner Killingsworth and reseating of Commissioner Capparelli

• Resolution 510 – Resolution is required for acceptance of Cal Fire Grant for wildland fire equipment and the deadline falls prior to the next regularly scheduled board meeting.

Closed Session Items

• Chief Walker’s Annual Evaluation – the annual evaluation of the fire chief

Cal Trans delays on SR 74 today

This notice was just received.

An accident involving a fuel spill occurred yesterday on SR 74 at the Vista
Point (about 6 miles above Palm Desert). Caltrans Maintenance crews along
with a hazardous material contractor will be cleaning up the residual today
from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. As a result flagging will be necessary at this
location.

Motorists are advised to take an alternate route if possible to avoid
delays.

Daylight savings time ends Sunday morning

Please remember to turn your clocks or other time pieces, other that your hour glasses, back one hour Saturday night or early Sunday morning. We return to standard time this weekend.

The official time change is occurs at 2 a.m., Sunday, Nov. 6. As the adage says, fall back.

Riverside County Fire Department also suggests that this is a good time to check your smoke and carbon monoxide alarms and their batteries.

CSA 38 cancels Nov. 10 meeting

County Service Area 38 Advisory's committee has canceled its November meeting and will try to reschedule the meeting in December.
