I would like to point out an unsung hero amongst us. Forest Service firefighters are a very fraternal group. They live amongst us. Their spouses often are teachers of our children. They shop at our stores, but we may never really know them because they tend to keep among themselves.
ReplyDeleteDave Fiorella has been on this district since the 1980s. Most of you don't know him, yet over the past couple of days, he has kept a raging danger at bay under exraordinary circumstances. He has only had three hours of sleep, kept a fire from destroying Idyllwild, kept firefighters out of harm's way and then spoke to more than 300 people in town to calm their fears.
Thank you enormously, Dave Fiorella
